The financial sector plays a crucial role in achieving a sustainable future for both people and the environment. The Sustainable Finance Initiative is an initiative to inspire and, more importantly, activate professionals in the financial sector to increase their impact on a sustainable economy and society. We do this by certifying professionals in the financial sector in the field of sustainable finance.
Who we are
The Sustainable Finance Initiative is a foundation based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We are committed to fostering collaboration and cooperation among financial sector stakeholders to bring about meaningful change. Initiators of the foundation are Dr. Fred de Jong and Lamark. The first exam was developed in collaboration with CITO and we plan to bring the exam under independent oversight by the Examination Chamber.
Our objectives for sustainable finance
We strive to transform the financial system by providing professionals with the knowledge and professional network to advance sustainable finance. By aligning financial practices with environmental and social values, we can contribute to a fairer and more resilient world for the benefit of human well-being.
First exam Sustainable Finance basics
SFI is developing the first Sustainable Finance Basics exam as part of the certification program. The exam is intended for financial professionals to test their basic knowledge of sustainable finance. The first exam will be taken on May 8.
Our certification program
To make this vision a reality, we are developing a certification program. This programme, which includes a series of examinations, is designed to train and certify professionals in sustainable finance. Successful candidates may eventually be listed on our official register of Certified Sustainable Finance Professionals, a network of individuals equipped to lead the transition to a more sustainable economy and society.
